“Passing the Flame”: FCU Student Organization Inauguration and Leadership Handover Ceremony Marks a New Chapter of Student Leadership

Feng Chia University held its Academic Year 2025–26 Student Organization Inauguration and Leadership Handover Ceremony, themed“Passing the Flame,” on June 14. The event opened with faculty advisors and student committee leaders making creative entrances alongside the organizations they mentor. Vice President Kuo-Hao Tang encouraged all student leaders to embrace the ceremony’s theme, emphasizing that leadership transitions represent not only the transfer of responsibility, but also the passing on of experience, values, and passion. He expressed confidence that incoming leaders would build upon the achievements of their predecessors, continue to innovate, and guide their organizations toward new milestones while keeping the spirit of student organizations alive across generations.

FCU Martial Arts Clubs Shine at National University Games with One Gold, One Silver, and Two Bronze Medals

Representatives from Feng Chia University’s Karate Club, Taekwondo Club, and Jiao-Long Judo Club competed at the 2026 National Intercollegiate Athletic Games, demonstrating the results of their rigorous training against top student-athletes from universities across Taiwan. Collectively, FCU athletes earned one gold medal, one silver medal, two bronze medals, and several top-eight finishes.

Let Kindness Continue, Let Love Live On: First Recipient of the President Paul-Lung Chang Memorial Scholarship Returns to Give Back

Ten years ago, a scholarship enabled her to study in Spain. Ten years later, she returned to Feng Chia University with gratitude and donated NT$100,000 so that the kindness she received could continue to benefit future students. On June 16, Yi-Chun Hung, an alumna of the Department of Photonics, returned to campus to donate NT$100,000 to the President Paul-Lung Chang Memorial Scholarship. Her donation fulfilled a promise she had made a decade ago and demonstrated how the seeds of care and generosity planted by the late “Angel President,” President Paul-Lung Chang, continue to bear fruit.

Freshmen Envision Future Cities in Interdisciplinary Hackathon Hosted by FCU College of Construction and Development

The College of Construction and Development at Feng Chia University hosted a hackathon for its Exploratory Course Future Cities and Smart Living during the 2025–2026 academic year. Held on June 7 at the Smart City Collaborative Learning Hall, the competition showcased the University's newly launched interdisciplinary elective program for first-year students. Introduced in the second semester of the academic year, the Exploratory Course initiative encourages freshmen to explore learning opportunities beyond their major fields in a low-risk environment. Centered on interdisciplinary teams composed of freshmen from different colleges and departments, the hackathon challenged participants to respond to real-world issues related to smart cities and sustainable development through intensive hands-on collaboration and final project presentations.

FCU Incubated Startup Fengsheng Digital Selected Among Taiwan’s Top 100 Startups, Secures NT$3 Million in Government Support

On April 29, the National Development Council (NDC) announced the list of the top 100 teams selected for the “Startup Blossom – Startup Alliance Competition.” Among 2,805 participating teams from across Taiwan, Fengsheng Digital Development Co., Ltd., led by Chen Chen-Hung, an alumnus of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Feng Chia University, successfully advanced into the top 100 and was awarded NT$3 million in startup funding support.

Symbiosis Wins Silver at the 2026 TITAN Innovation Design Awards: Feng Chia University Professor Sophie Colline Demonstrates Interdisciplinary Excellence

The International Awards Associate (IAA), organizer of the TITAN Innovation Design Awards, recently announced the winners of its latest competition. Sophie Colline, Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Systems Management at Feng Chia University, stood out among competitors from around the world with her work Symbiosis, earning the Silver Award in the Innovation in Design – Movie and Animation Design category.

Inaugural U-Impact Freshman Anchor Course Competition Showcases Practical Innovation from 21 Interdisciplinary Teams

On March 27, Feng Chia University hosted its inaugural U-Impact Sustainability Action Challenge, the capstone competition of the freshman Anchor Course program, at Gongshan Hall. A total of 21 interdisciplinary freshman teams participated, each selected as the most promising representative from departmental project-based learning courses.

On March 18, Feng Chia University hosted the Second Working Meeting and Site Visit of the 2025 Smart Manufacturing Talent Development Program, bringing together representatives from Taiwan’s Ministry of Education and faculty members from mechanical engineering–related departments at 14 universities nationwide.
